Shout out to Emiiy, Mavis, Dougie, Tisha and Joe, my In-Laws Carl and Grace for coming in to help pull this all together (and cooked up some delicious food thanks to the Delish Dish Cincinnati http://delishdishcincy.com/). An extra special shout out to my increibly amazing husband Garett, for without him, none of this would have ever come to be. I am so lucky and grateful to have you in my life. I look forward to seeing many more faces come through the doors of Columbus Furniture Revival!! Here are some photos of the shop and our first Revival!

It’s true! Columbus Furniture Revival has officially signed a lease on a RETAIL SPACE! We are going to be located at 246 S. 4th St. I am so incredibly excited to get the store up and running, but there are a few renovations that need to be done before we open. The store will offer finished furniture, unfinished furniture available for custom, and we will continue to refinish pieces you already own. You will all be invited to the launch party so look out for the invite.
Some pieces that we have been working on!
Before and after…
It might be hard to tell, but the headboard was for a young girl so while the majority of it is white, there is some distressing with PINK! Love love love
Please contact us with any requests or if you have any pieces that need some love at firstname.lastname@example.org
It’s the last day to vote for Columbus Furniture Revival at growam.com
We should find out within the next week if all of the voting paid off! Thank you all for your support and for sticking with me while day in and day out I have been bugging you all to vote!
While we wait for the results, I wanted to share a recent dresser I refinished! I received a dresser from a client who wanted it to look pretty much completely different. She gave me a photo for inspiration and left the rest up to me.
She wanted a turquoise color paint with an antiqued finish. We reused the pulls and just gave them a new look and bought 4 knobs for the top drawer. It is definitely a piece that pops and I just love the color!!
Hope you all have a wonderful day and don’t forget to vote!!
My dear friend, Cory, has been in need of a desk. He and his girlfriend moved into a townhouse about a year ago and they don’t really have a “work area”. They are always complaining about having papers all over their kitchen, which is definitely not where they belong. We found a HUUUUUUGE desk. I am not exaggerating when I say that this desk must have weighed about 300 pounds. It took lots of strength, but Cory and I got that sucker loaded into Big Red. We brought it to the garage to get started.
First of all, we discussed taking some weight off by trimming up the sides. After that, it was time to prime.
Cory wanted it black, and black it became. It will have some gold details but I just couldn’t wait to share it!!
**** PLEASE EVERYONE! take a few minutes to go to growamerica.com and VOTE for COLUMBUS FURNITURE REVIVAL and be sure to share it for double points! I would really appreciate it! Its the final week of voting so hopefully we can make it to the top 50 to be considered!! Thank you!
I have entered Columbus Furniture Revival into a contest called “She Can Pitch.” Female owned businesses are competing for grants, mentoring and opportunities to pitch in front of investors. I really need all of your support so that I can be in the top applicants from which the winner is chosen. All you need to do is go to the website below and click vote! What would help out even more is if you could share it! Help CFR get as many points as possible!!! Thank you all in advance.
In furniture news, I just delivered a dresser and bedside table last week. Because my head is all over the place, I didn’t take any pictures of the before except for one of the drawers. That particular drawer gave me some trouble. There was one knob that wouldn’t budge. It did not want to come off! We tried everything, and even after we stripped the screw, we continued to try everything we could. Finally, I had to perform some surgery. We got the knob off with minimal damage and replaced it with one that looked exactly like it. I really like the color that they chose, the pieces looked beautiful in their house!

Ever since I have met Carl, he has said some interesting phrases. My favorite of them is “My foot, Leibow.” I hear this one quite often. So when Garett and I had the chance to make Carl’s birthday present, we ran with it.
Carl has been eyeing this craftmans toolbox of ours. He mentioned that he needed one for his fishing gear. Since Carl is probably the most difficult person to get gifts for, knowing what he actually wanted was a step in the right direction. Keeping him from going out to buy one was another task. We told Grace what we were doing and she did everything she could do to prevent him from going to the toolbox section at lowes or home depot.
Now time for the transformation. Having the toolbox in my workshop meant that it was pretty dirty.
After some elbow grease, I got the toolbox cleaned up. I then picked a color paint that I think would like nice on their porch. It was quite difficult, but I went with a light celery color.
Couldn’t stop with just the paint. I wanted it to be personalized…
We gave it to him and he seemed to really love it. Hopefully this will help keep his fishing gear organized!
