Post-Thanksgiving

Standard

Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend! We had a wonderful time with our families! It was so great having my parents and brother in town to celebrate thanksgiving with my in-laws. Unfortunately, we have not yet moved. But fingers crossed we will be moving in the next few days.

This weekend, as you all know, we participated in the Scotts Antique Show. Because of the game and the holiday, it was a little quiet, but we had a great time. Here are some pictures of pieces we brought!!! If you are interested in any of them, please feel free to contact me and I can let you know what we can do!!

Our laundry basket is now a light celery color. Love it.

The Secret Desk Drawer

Standard

Happy almost Thanksgiving!!! Before my family comes in town, I wanted to write a quick post. Last week I delivered the most gorgeous desk to my friend Claudia! She had said that she was looking for a desk that was feminine and classic. I searched all over and while I was at Nieman Bates, a wonderful consignment shop, I found it!!! It was exactly what how she explained.

Not only did she want a classic desk, but she wanted it a nice creamy white. The hardware was already perfect so we didn’t need to worry about that.

As a surprise, I wanted to add a secret punch of color that Claudia didn’t know about until I delivered it. See for yourself!!!

Love it!

The Little Red Chair

Standard

In the midst of craziness, I am finding comfort in blogging. I get a break from packing, painting, sanding and crunching numbers! This week has been great and I have been getting ready for all of the huge events about to take place!

Among all of the exciting events taking place, Columbus Furniture Revival is now a part of the SBB (small business beanstalk). This is a fantastic company that supports local business! This means that you get a discount when coming to us when you use you SBB card!! Be sure to check out their website at thesbb.com and see what kind of great deals they offer.

I recently received a small yellow chair. It was so dainty and adorable, but needing freshening up. The owner wanted it to give it some pep with a red paint job. As you know, I LOVE me a red chair, so i quickly agreed that this would be best!!

The Revamped Bench

Standard

Wow have I missed all of you!!! After our trip to Florida, I got a terrible cold that has been going around. I could barely get out of bed! Thank goodness I am finally feeling better. Just in time, November is a busy month! Tonight is our last class at the Bad Girl Ventures. I am going to miss seeing everyone on Wednesday nights and learning valuable information for working ON my business. We will be turning in our business plan, giving presentations, and attending our graduation all this month! Not only that, but we are closing on our house next Friday! Along with moving, my family is coming in town for Thanksgiving, it’s Garett’s birthday, and it is the Scotts Antique Show!!! Oh, and how could I forget, the Ohio State Michigan game…Busy, busy! But I will keep you all in the loop, don’t worry.

Since feeling better, I have gotten to work on some new pieces! This bench, in particular, came to me looking tired. It needed a pick me up while being about to withstand the outdoor elements.

Once I got it sanded, the bench started to take on a fresh new look.

I found a natural stain that is meant for the outdoors, so it look of this bench will last for years to come.

Contrasting the sanded wood and the new stain

The final product

I love how it looks. It has that warm, inviting look but you can tell it has a history. I hope the owner of this bench enjoys many years sitting on her porch on her beautiful, revamped bench.

Don’t forget to mark your calenders November 24-25 for the Scotts Antique Show at the Columbus Fairgrounds! Can’t wait to see you all there.
